IBCoM Awards

Date held: 6th April 2011

Location: Thalia Lounge, Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Duration: 6 hours

The first IBCoM Annual Awards was founded by myself along with 3 other main organisers during our studies. The idea was simple, we study communication, we want to breakdown the traditional teacher - student interaction and get to know more about our fellow classmates and professors in an informal setting.

To keep things sophisticated, we came up with the idea to have an award ceremony where both students and teachers are nominated for various awards all voted for by the students and teachers. Categories included: The Fashionista of the group, The best lecturer, The night owl, most likely to be successful to name a few. The night itself was divided into two parts: The welcome and award ceremony accompanied by some performances followed by an after party for those who wanted to dance the night away or get to know the teachers a bit better in an informal social setting.

The event also supported a different charity each year where a percentage of the proceeds made went to the charity chosen for that year. In 2011 the charity chosen was Amnesty International.
